February 12th, 2010 · No Comments · Blog posts by Lia, Fail 'o' the Day, Wary of the advice of others

Metrosexual Is to Vampire as Lumberjack Is to Wolfman

Evidently, Matt Gross, the New York Times Frugal Traveler hasn’t. Or he wouldn’t have his 2010 resolutions made up of patently obvious items for anyone who’s ever actually traveled on a budget. Here are two of the six gems of wisdom for the budget-minded.

Fail ‘o’ the Day: The Unbuyable Euro-Product

January 22nd, 2010 · No Comments · Blog posts by Lia, Fail 'o' the Day, Novelty, Obsessed with the Dutch, Wary of the advice of others

I know that I’m spoiled to assume the products that I want would be available in the States, doesn’t it generally seem like the world is getting smaller? So the day that the interwebs can’t deliver what I like comes as a bit of a surprise.

In General, Let’s Be Skeptical of Any Kind of “Hut”

January 18th, 2010 · No Comments · Blog posts by Lia, Tasty treats, Wary of the advice of others

I am an absolute sucker for waffles. But Crystal Hut causes little alarm bells to ring in my brain. Hut, really? I hate to discriminate, but I can see the ferns from here, can’t you? And the light jazz that will be playing as the Hut employees deliver the cold, tired waffles?
