News update for the LA Times: Two things people just aren't as into these days.
Sigh. WHY?
The LA Times recently ran a story in their travel section entitled, “Playing golf courses the pros play.”
Again, this is why travel sections are increasingly becoming irrelevant.
Let’s look at data. New hospitality developments are forgoing golf courses as part of their schemes for other revenue producing vehicles (such as spas) because golf courses:
a) Are horribly unsustainable.
b) Don’t cater to the next generation. Millennials won’t be making deals on any courses.
c) Are still considered elitist and out of touch, particularly in this economy.
d) Have saturated the market. Too many greens, not enough interest.
Golf course round-ups were the tried-and-true formula for these travel sections for years. No wonder dailies are having a hard time keeping their readership.
Here, here!
Now I'm wondering what Betty thinks about this new destination:

Hey there psykdoc-
If I lived in Paris, I'd totally check out that place. Looks fun. Not sure I'd go there, though, if I was visiting… I mean, when I travel to Paris I like to eat croissants and drink wine, not really sew. But that's just me. :)
